The following are some general
guidelines which will help you get the information you need (or address your
concerns) quickly and appropriately in the vast majority of cases. To

1.
The administrative secretary, Cheryl Van
Beek, handles all general school business such as absentees,
completion of forms, times, dates and a thousand other details. If she cannot
answer your question, she can usually direct you to the person who can.
2.
The teachers are the best
source of information about your child and his/her program. They can tell
you about the design of the program and the general expectations for children at
that grade level as well as details about specific assignments. Teachers are
also the best place to turn first if your child has misbehaved or is
experiencing conflicts with another student.
3.
The special education teacher,
Audrey Tompkins oversees all of the special education students and their
programs. She supervises the Special Ed. assistants and she can give you
information about what we may be able to offer a child with special learning
needs.
4.
The finance manager, Margi
Sayer,
is the person to talk to regarding any financial issues such as
tuition payments, financial aid, donations, receipts, etc.
5.
The guidance counselor, Lynda
Bobosky takes care of scholarships, bursaries, career counseling and
educational counseling. If you have questions about any of these, she will
be pleased to help you.
6.
Mr. Bud Reed, elementary
vice-principal or Mr. Paul Casurella, Jr/Sr High vice-principal should be
contacted regarding issues pertaining to their particular area of the school.
These include discipline, educational program, teaching practice and student
events.
7.
The principal, Mr. Dwayne
Brown, is the person to speak to regarding policy, public relations,
safety, the overall educational program, high school course choices, teaching
practice or employment.
8.
The board chairman, Dave
Phillips, is the person to contact when there is a concern which cannot be
addressed or resolved by any of the persons mentioned above.

Olds Koinonia Christian School is to assist the Christian family, in
cooperation with the local church, in training their children
intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually toward maturity and
responsible independence
