Royals Athletics Fall Season

  1. Royals XC - Cross Country will begin on Wed. Sept. 4, from 3:30 - 5:00pm. Regular practices will be on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3:30 - 5:00pm and some optional Fridays. Students in grades 7 - 12 are welcome to join the team. There will be a Fun Run race as well as the Divisionals cross country race. If students qualify, they will continue on to Zones, and possibly provincials (for gr. 10-12).
  2. Royals Golf - Gr. 10 -12 students may tryout for the Royals Golf team on Friday, Sept. 6, from 3:30 - 5:30pm. The tryouts will be at the Olds Golf Club driving range and par three course, and the cost for each player will be $10. There will be a CESD Golf tournament in Bowden for some of the players.  Golf Zones will be in High River on Sept. 17, and the cost will be $65 and includes lunch and tournament fees.
  3. Royals Volleyball - We are planning to have 7 Royals volleyball teams: Sr. Girls, Sr. Boys, JV Girls, JV Boys, Jr. A Girls, Jr./Ms Boys, Ms Girls. Tryouts will be held this first week and a half of school to determine which students will be on each of the teams. - Gr. 10-12 Girls Tryouts: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 3-5, from 3:30-5:30pm. This tryout will determine who will be on the Sr. Girls and JV Girls teams.             - Gr. 10 - 12 Boys Tryouts:  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 3-5, from 5:30-7:30pm. This tryout will determine who will be on the Sr. Boys and JV Boys teams.      

- Gr. 7-9 Girls Tryouts: Friday, Sept. 6 and Tuesday Sept. 10, from 3:30pm - 5:00pm. These tryouts will determine who will be on the Jr. A and MS A teams. - Gr. 7-9 Boys Tryouts: Monday, Sept. 9 and Wednesday Sept. 11, from 3:30pm - 5:00pm. These tryouts will determine who will be on the Jr./MS Boys  and JV* Boys teams. *Note: Because of numbers, there will likely need to be several grade 9 boys who will be moved up to play on the JV Boys team.
