I have been blessed to be part of the OKCS family and teaching staff since 1996.  My current teaching responsibilities include teaching Grade 4 (majority of subject areas), as well as Grade 5 and 6 Music.  As a classroom teacher, I am passionate about imparting God’s truth in practical ways that my students can live out daily, instilling in each student a sense of the love that God has for him/her as His “fearful and wonderful” creation (Psa. 139), and creating a fun learning environment that encourages academic excellence.  One of the things I am best known for at OKCS is my unique rendition of “The Happy Birthday” song.

In my free time, I enjoy sewing, crocheting, crafting, completing diamond dotz projects, collecting Campbell Soup memorabilia, playing the piano, and listening to music.  Being outside gardening, visiting the mountains, and taking walks with my dog, Kia, are activities which refresh my body, my mind, and my soul.

Growing up in a pastor’s home, the Word of God has always been a central part of my life and surroundings.  One of the many passages which has been meaningful in my life and guided my Christian journey is Proverbs 3: 5-6 which says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
