My name is Allan Ellingsgaard and I am super excited to be part of the family at Olds Koinonia Christian School.
As the only high school science teacher at the school, I get to journey with the students through all of the science courses from grade 9 to graduation. This includes Science 9, Science 10, Biology 20/30, Physics 20/30, and Chemistry 20/30. It is such a privilege to be paid to spend time with awesome staff and students at OKCS, while getting to discover some of the beauty of creation and the laws that govern the universe together with the students.
I am originally from the Faroe Islands and moved to Canada with my family in 2008. After working within statistics, computing, and later as an audio technician and music composer for a ministry, I embarked on a career change into education. My wife and I both completed our After-Degrees in Education with the University of Calgary. It has been a good journey, but there is still so much to learn.
Outside of school, I really enjoy music and sports. I play piano and sing. Soccer has always been a big part of my life, but lately I have really started to enjoy running. Most importantly, I am a family man. My wife and three sons are a precious gift to me and I cherish the moments we spend together.
My goal is to honour God in all that I do, and I hope that all students feel valued in my classroom. As we strive for academic excellence within the sciences, I hope that students grow in their knowledge of who God is and develop meaningful, life-long relationships with Him.
