Key Roles

I grew up on a farm outside of Smoky Lake, Alberta. After graduating from the University of Alberta, I decided to take a chance and moved to Sundsvall, Sweden. While in Sweden I helped open up a new international school in a city the size of Red Deer. I taught Home Economics and Textiles. I had the privilege to travel to Denmark, Turkey (a must see if you can), Estonia, Portugal, Italy, Holland, and France. It was a great experience but I'm very happy to be back in Canada.

Since moving back to Canada I have become part of the amazing Olds Koinonia Christian School team. I am responsible for teaching Social Studies grade 9-12, fashion and foods. As a social studies teacher my main goal is to teach students how to support their opinion with evidence and examples.  In foods and fashion my goal is to teach them skills that will allow them to  be full and resourceful.

In my free time I enjoy quilting, baking, gardening, and playing or watching hockey. Of course when I'm watching hockey I'm cheering for the Oilers :)

My favorite verse is Phillippians 3:14 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
